British Columbia set a new testing record on Thursday, as health officials reported 82 new cases of COVID-19 and one new death in the province.
B.C. conducted 10,899 tests in a 24-hour period, according to provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry.
After a slight uptick a day earlier, the number of active cases continued the downward trend the province has shown for more than a week, dropping to 1,261.
About 3,093 people remained in self-isolation due to possible exposure, Henry said.
Sixty-nine people were hospitalized with the disease. Nineteen of them are in critical or intensive care.
