Frankie Howerd as Lurcio the Roman slave set back in 72 AD Pompeii. Always awash with voluptuous women, the program ran on BBC for only a few seasons. One of the funniest segments was with the Young Master (son of the Senator that Lurcio worked for)..who was forever falling in love, and was always writing "Odes". The Ode was always worded in sexual context with the last word obvious but never rhymed, leaving you to finish it! Here is a collection of Odes!
