In his talk, he will share the story of the transition of a class wimp/nerd to an Ironman triathlon finisher out of sheer determination. He aims to inspire people who are standing behind the line they have drawn for themselves, conceding to their notion that they are better off not crossing this barrier and that what lies beyond is unreachable. Rey is a Fulbright scholar from the Philippines pursuing his master’s degree in Supply Chain Engineering at Georgia Tech. Prior to this, he had 8 years of work experience in the Quick Service Restaurant industry doing procurement, systems implementation, and supply chain management. He wasn't athletic growing up and just adopted an active lifestyle a few years back, starting with running. In 2018, he fulfilled his dream of finishing an Ironman 70.3 triathlon race in the Philippines This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
