The inspiration for this design is a full-scale homebuilt aircraft called the AirCam which was originally developed in conjunction with National Geographic Magazine as an aerial photography and inflight video platform. This is a simplified version of the AirCam, with it’s single pusher motor, but it is still loaded with options. I can set it up as a traditional tricycle gear configuration for easier takeoffs and landings, or build it as a back-country bush plane complete with bush tires and flaperons. Whichever way you build it, I think you’ll agree the Micro SportCam perfectly captures the spirit of homebuilt aviation: curiosity, a sense of adventure, and the pure joy of flight.
