After buying an affordable Harbor Freight lathe I wanted a 4 jaw chuck. A little perusing online brought up Penn State Industries with some less expensive options. For $89.95 I ordered a kit with the chuck, 2 sets of jaws, and an 8" jumbo set. The kit came with an adapter but it didn't fit the Harbor Freight lathe. After I ordered the HF adapter I stumbled onto a ShopSmith that was being offered on a local Freecycle group. It was pretty rusted and locked up but after a lot of clean up, grinding, sanding, and oiling it came back pretty well so I ordered an adapter for the ShopSmith. (PSI has adapters for any lathe) I am very pleased with the PSI chuck. It holds very tight and is easy to use. I highly recommend the chuck; you can't beat the price and all that comes with it. The folks at PSI are extremely friendly to deal with as well.
