The by-election for Dublin West comes at time when there is a massive cost of living crisis for ordinary people while there is a recovery for the rich. Socialist Party candidate Cllr Ruth Coppinger is a proven campaigner against rising rents, mortgage debts and austerity taxes such as water tax and property tax.

On 23 May electing Cllr Ruth Coppinger to the Dáil, Paul Murphy MEP to the European Parliament and a host of Anti-Austerity Alliance councillors can deliver a blow to the austerity parties.
