The RevivalDRIVE houses an unabridged vintage amplifier circuit inside a stompbox enclosure with added features to allow interfacing with an array of guitar amps as well as power-amps, and direct to DAW. More information at www.origineffects.com/product/revivaldrive/
The most talented Chris Buck paid us a visit so we took the opportunity to show how well the RevivalDRIVE can work both as an effects pedal and as an amp modeller running into some speaker simulation. We split the signal directly after the RevivalDRIVE: one path fed directly to a DAW with a cab I.R. loader; the other path ran into a solid-state power-amp & speaker setup.
This isn't designed to be a close comparison of real cab/mic vs. impulse responses but we wanted to show how useable the RevivalDRIVE can be when recording direct-to-DAW or even in an ampless-rig on stage.
SIGNAL PATH:
- Gibson SG loaded with OX4 PAFs
- RevivalDRIVE
- Radial Bigshot ABY (signal is split here)
Path 1 - Flat response poweramp - Marshall 1960A loaded with Celestion G12M - Beyerdynamic M160
Path 2 - Audient iD14 - DAW - Red Wirez Impulses (Marshall 1960A G12M, Beyerdynamic M160 I.R. available for free at www.redwirez.com)
Room reverb plugin applied to both paths. No other EQ or compression.
