GitHub removed password authentication on August 13th, 2021. You can still easily clone a public GitHub repo, but if you want to push your changes back to origin, you're out of luck. You will need a GitHub personal access token. In this quick tutorial, I'll show you how to create a GitHub access token in the 'Developer' tab of your account settings, and then show you how to push changes back to origin with your personal access token, thus avoiding and solving the dreaded 'Support for password authentication was removed on August 13, 2021. Please use a personal access token instead.' error everyone is getting.
