Presenting a short visual documentary of Spiti valley "The land of lamas".
The video includes places, road conditions and the reasons to visit the Spiti valley.
Our journey started from the Kotgarh, Himachal Pradesh to Spiti Valley with following Itinerary:
1. Kotgarh
2. Rampur
3. Kinnaur (Sangla, Chitkul, Back to Sangla, Kalpa, Peo)
4. Upper Kinnaur Hangrang (Sumdo, Nako, Chango)
5. Spiti (Gue, Tabo, Dhankar, Kaza)
6. Kaza, Key, Langza, Komic, Hikkim, Kibber
Other places you must visit in Spiti - Pin valley, Losar, Kunzum pass, Chandartal Lake
The best time to visit Spiti is May-July however, if you want to see the Mountains in all its Glory and Snow then, It's best to visit during the November-January Month.
Vehicle - We visited the Spiti Valley in Maruti Suzuki Swift (2016 Model) But, if you are planning to visit beyond Lossar (i.e. Chandartaal Lake, Kunzum pass) then it's recommended that you should visit in a car with at-least 200mm ground clearance or you can also get a local tour cab for 7000-8500 Rs. to Chandartal Including1-day stay. Be prepared though as there are water crossing on the roads.
