Hey guys, geeky video today with the double purpose of showing the result of each of these pickup on the same guitar, AND showing how different a pickup can sound when fitted on a guitar that has a different acoustic voice. Please share your impressions in the comments.

-1937 Gibson L-12, pretty balanced, very wide, not too punchy or dense

-1936 Gibson L-5, way denser, quite deep and woody, less "air" in the sound, very punchy

My impressions regarding the pickups is that the Mccarty is way brighter, and very articulated, it reacts to the softest touch. The Dearmond is thicker, a bit more bluesy, definitely has more bass, and will have a hard time getting as articulated in the bass strings.

My impression regarding the guitars is that the less deep and dense acoustic voice of the Gibson L-12 enances the bright tone of the Mccarty and makes a perfect match in my opinion (i always like bright pickups, because i always play the pickups at full tone, but sometimes i which i could push the tone knob up to 12 if i could, especially on some dearmond Mike.
