Let's See How Ivan Iv of Russia Looked In Real Life by Recreating his Portraits. I use my photoshop skills to see how he might have looked. I also go though his biography to see what his deal was.
Ivan was born in 1530 as the son of the Grand Duke of Moscow Ivan III. Ivan's parents died whe he was still a young boy, and he was brought up by the nobility (boyars). They neglected Ivan because they wanted the power to themselves. So Ivan came to distrust the nobility. When Ivan was 16 he got the throne and became the first Russian Tsar known as Ivan IV and sought his revenge. He created the Oprichnina headed by the Oprichniki and they terrorized the country. Anyone who was suspected of treason was hunted and killed. He even looted his own city, Novgorod to rid of all he distrust. This led Ivan to get the nickname Ivan the Terrible.
