A day before releasing this video I took a poll: Out of the big five tech stocks (FAAMG), which one do you see as the most compelling long term investment right now?
Of the 680 responses, the results were as follows:
Amazon (AMZN) - 25%
Microsoft (MSFT) - 24%
Apple (AAPL) - 23%
Alphabet (GOOGL) - 16%
Facebook (FB) - 11%
I found this interesting as the stocks that people appeared to have the most favorable long term outlook generally were the stocks that had been recently performing the best. (YTD returns are through 8/3/20)
Amazon (AMZN) - up 68% YTD
Microsoft (MSFT) - up 32% YTD
Apple (AAPL) - up 45% YTD
Alphabet (GOOGL) - up 8% YTD
Facebook (FB) - up 19%YTD
Is this a result of recency bias or do you expect AMZN/AAPL/MSFT to continue their relative outperformance of FB/GOOGL over the long term? Which stocks do you view as the best long term value right now?
