Bl.a. Caruso gjorde
sex verser.

"Santa Lucia" is one of the most famous Neapolitan songs by
Teodoreo Cottrau - Longo. The lyrics of "Santa Lucia" celebrate
the picturesque waterfront District, Borgo Santa Lucia, in the
Bay of Naples, in the invitation of a boatman to take a turn
in his boat, to enjoy the cool of the evening.
The melody is also well known to all Swedes as "Sankta Lucia"
and is sung around 13th December to celebrate Lucia, our own
Bearer of Light into the Swedish dark and cold winter.
