This time in Train Sim Classic, I drove Evening Star on the West Somerset Railway. I've set this in early September 1989 even though the season is set in the summer. Sept is usually the start of Autumn or Fall if you're in the States. Evening Star is a 9F 2-10-0 and it was the last steam locomotive built for British Railways. It only ran for 5 years until it was preserved, it belongs to the National Railway Museum at York. After the run Evening Star returned to be on static display at the NRM for many to see. The West Somerset Railway is only 20 miles long which makes it the longest heritage line in the UK. The engine and the other remaining 9Fs are not allowed onto the mainline due to their flangeless wheels and because of derailment concerns from Railtrack and it's successor Network Rail but it hasn't been proven.

6412 was a resident on the WSR before it moved to the South Devon Railway.
