Recently I uploaded a version of this song (David Somers' Hastings Street) using a Waves PRS Archon amp plug-in for the improvised lead part ([ Ссылка ]). Since then I wondered how close I could come to that with my Mesa Boogie 5:25 amp.
I set all the knobs on the "burn" channel to noon—top center. The master is set pretty low. The "secret weapon" is post-recording EQ. As with most Boogies, the amp's EQ occurs before the gain stages. Even with the highs turned all the way down, it's still a bright distortion sound. However, with the highs rolled off post-mic it's a much smoother sound.
