Comparison of Fender 9120 Nylon Tapewound bass strings, vs Rotosound Jazz Bass RS77 LE Flatwounds.
To me the recorded sound is very similar, but the feel is completely different... the tapes are really low tension, whereas those heavy gauge flats feel super tight and made my truss rod cry during set up.
The tapes are more enjoyable to play. The downside is some unwanted fret/finger noise.
