Kingfish Fry Goan Style
• 2 Kingfish steaks
• 1/4 cup rava (semolina)
• 2 tbsp rice flour (optional)
Ingredients for kingfish fry masala
• 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
• 1 tsp spicy red chili powder
• 1 tbsp Kashmiri red chili powder (optional)
• 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
• Salt to taste
• 1 tsp lemon juice (or tamarind paste)
Method
• Combine the ingredients mentioned under fish fry masala. Add 1-2 tsp water and combine.
• Do not add too much water at once. Add water in batches. Make a thick spreadable paste.
• Apply the masala to the kingfish steaks on both sides. Keep it in the refrigerator for an hour.
• On a wide plate combine semolina and rice flour.
• Take out the marinated fish steaks from the refrigerator.
• Apply rava mixture to both sides of the fish. Keep it aside on a plate.
• Heat 2-3 tbsp oil over medium heat.
• Once the oil is hot, place the fish in the pan.
• Cook it for 2-3 minutes on each side until crisp.
• Flip and fry for 2-3 minutes on the other sides.
• Remove the kingfish fry on a plate.
• Goan-style kingfish fry is ready to serve.
