The eighth studio album by Southwest Detroit rap group Insane Clown Posse, The Wraith: Shangri-La was originally packaged in a 2-disc jewel case and includes a 24 page booklet with lyrics and a story about the creation of each track, pictures of ICP and the story behind "Dedicated To The Butterfly". One version came with the 2002 GOTJ ICP concert on DVD, another version came out on the same day with the 2002 GOTJ ICP seminar on DVD. The fallowing year on February 4, 2003 they released THIS version, a special edition 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound mix of the original audio on an audio only DVD mixed by Nathaniel Kunkel and Mike Puwal. This version does not come with either of the bonus video DVD's.
The Wraith: Shangri-La is the eighth studio album by Insane Clown Posse, released on November 5, 2002, by Psychopathic Records. The album is the first of two albums representing the sixth Joker's Card in the group's Dark Carnival mythology. The album's lyrics describe the Wraith's exhibition of heaven.
Some tracks have 2 songs on them. In those cases, the title that does not appear on the back cover's track list. The album was the first Insane Clown Posse album that producer Mike E. Clark did not contribute to. It features guest appearances by Anybody Killa, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, Esham, Jumpsteady, Rich “Legz Diamond” Murrell, Lil Pig, Twiztid and Zug Izland. It debuted at number 15 on the Billboard charts, and in 2010, became eligible for gold certification. It is the 6th Joker Card in the first deck, and the group's 18th overall release. In 2003, this surround sound mix was named "Most Adventurous Mix" at the second annual Surround Music Awards.
