American Vintage Series '62 Fender Stratocaster with an HDC loaded pickguard set of SSL-1's, running into a Focusrite 2i2 A/D convertor into Ableton Live, direct, using only Overloud's SpringAge (spring reverb) and Overloud's BREVERB (Studio Reverb). No amplifiers, or simulated amplifiers, or anything else. All controls on the guitar itself set to full.
The nice thing about these pickups is that they are midrange boosted, and not shrill sounding. Positions 2 and 4 are quite quacky.
The all aluminum pickguard was a great choice - u can hear there is very little single coil hum, even when using no gate, direct. They sound WAY better than the original '62 re-issue set. in my opinion they are more balanced in tone than any other set on the market for funk and blues. This is the specific set used by John Frusciante formerly with the Red Hot Chili Peppers
