Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has assured that the state will pay thefivemillion naira compensation awarded by the court to Adedotun Clement, who was assaulted during an #EndSARS memorial event.
Mr. Clement, a driver for a cab-hailing service, was manhandled by the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency and police officers, during the #EndSARS Memorial rally at Lekki tollgate, in October 2021.
On the 14th of March, a federal high court in Lagos ordered the state government and Nigerian Police Force to pay N5 million as compensation to Mr. Clement.
