The 2020 election cycle has demonstrated the exponential influence of women in politics and elections at all levels of government. The Alice Paul Institute invites you to join us for an informative and engaging conversation between scholars Kelly Ditmar and Jennifer Piscopo in which they will analyze the ways in which the 2020 Election helped or hindered women and the issues they care about. This one-hour virtual program will feature an open discussion format that will celebrate the gains made by women in politics, including the first party nomination of a woman of color to be the Vice President of the United States, as well as the gendered systems that continue to hold female candidates to different standards than their male peers.
