Oʻahu native Mark Noguchi is an Executive Chef for Pili Group, a catering company that works closely with the local community and farmers.
Growing up, Mark danced for an esteemed hula hālau (school), where he learned that the sum is greater than the parts and that coming together is what tells the greater story. Mark now applies that same philosophy to his cooking. He believes that food is a vessel, and a way to galvanize and bring people together. Mark is most passionate about how food connects people, heritage, places, cultures and times. He continues to carry his learnings through his cooking and most importantly, his everyday life.
Mark not only manages his catering company but works with teachers at local schools to develop food and culture-based curriculums for their students. He also supports local farms and fishponds across Oʻahu, and advocates for sustainable sourcing practices.
