SPRING DIESEL FESTIVAL
Thursday 18th – Sunday 21st May
Celebrating five decades of diesel preservation, hear the thrash and feel the power as things get very loud across four intensively-timetabled days of diesel traction on 18th to 21st May at the Spring Diesel Festival.
Locomotives of all classes from across 60 years of diesel traction will bring noise throughout the Valley.
The best of the varied SVR fleet will be joined by special guests – both preserved and currently in main-line operation.
Tickets for individual days will be available alongside multi-day rovers, allowing you to experience heritage diesel power and save money.
We are sorry to have to announce that Class 58 no. 58023 will now not be appearing at the Spring Diesel Festival. This is due to technical issue which unfortunately cannot be rectified in time for our four-day event. We are however, working closely with the owner of the locomotive and hope to see it operating here later in the year. We really appreciate all the efforts that have been made by all concerned to have 58023 ready in time and we look forward in anticipation to its arrival in a few months time!
