Everyone wants to feel like they belong. Connecting with patients has a tremendous effect on patient satisfaction because nurses are on the frontlines of most patient encounters. Connecting with patients should be easy, but there are a lot of factors that can get in the way of the clinician-patient relationship. From quick visits to all that typing into the electronic health record, there are obstacles when it comes to connecting with patients in a clinical encounter.
