Life is full of rules, duties, and obligations. But we should not assume that we have met God’s standard when we conform to the bare minimum of these requirements. Certain situations require much more of us, and the difficulty of those situations does not excuse us from doing what is right. Boaz risked losing Ruth, but he was willing to do so in order to follow the Law completely (Bible Expositor and Illuminator Union Gospel Press, Summer Quarter 2024).
