In this video we make colorful creations with wild violets. Violets are beautiful edible flowers that can be made into a wide array of herbal creations and tasty treats. These small flowers can be found growing on lawns, roadsides and in meadows and forests. The species of violets we have growing here is Viola Sororia or common blue violet. This species is native to North America but many species of these edible violets can be found growing worldwide. They have been used as food and medicine for centuries by many different cultures and today are seen as a common lawn weed. For a small plant that is often seen as something to be removed it is quite amazing. I already can't wait for early Spring next year to make some more colorful creations!
