Welcome to my 571st solo guitar arrangement video on YouTube the classic standard Polka Dots and Moonbeams, by Jimmy Van Heusen and Johnny Burke but which has been performed by countless greats, not the least Wes Montgomery. The reason I decided to do it today? My Wes Montgomery albums were already out from my video last week of Round Midnight (see here [ Ссылка ] ) so basically I was just lazy, lol.
If you are among the few remaining who follow my stuff here on YouTube, you may have noticed a long absence, actually the longest break I have ever taken since starting here 13 years ago, a good two months. The reason? "Creator Fatigue". It just got too difficult to get motivated to post new arrangements with fewer and fewer people watching. The algorithm has clearly abandoned me. I have supposedly 41,000 subscribes but my most recent videos only got a few hundred views the first few days and then just die. So I decided unceremoniously to just quit. No one noticed, lol. So, I was OK with it but a few months later I'm noticing that I haven't been playing anything new on my gigs and I'm actually losing interest in the instrument (especially as I am picking up hockey again and spending lots of time at the ice rink!). At least posting a new arrangement every week has given me some basic incentive to create something new so I thought I'd come back and see if the break will encourage any new views and/or subscribers. This arrangement is completely improvised (although I have played this tune many times before) and while "nice" enough, it didn't involve any special preparation or specific arranging, just sit and play, no real effort. However, if I was ever going to, once again, create really special arrangements as I have in the past (all those Steely Dan and Stevie Wonder arrangements...), I'd need financial support either by you purchasing some of my video lessons and/or signing up with my Patreon page, details on both below.
