Who is acting for Patient Safety in France?

In the frame of the new French National Patient Safety Strategy launched in February 2013, in close cooperation with health professionals and patient associations, the HAS supports several new programmes including patient safety indicators and national database for serious adverse events in the ambulatory and hospital settings. The challenging development of the safety culture is originally addressed all along the patient pathways and through the coordination of care cycles, from public campaigns to hospital accreditation and chronic conditions. The national comprehensive safety strategy in 4 dimensions - culture, monitoring, communication and education - as well as innovative actions led by the HAS will be presented.
