"Liars, Cheaters, & Thieves Chapter 2:
I knew I couldn't Trust You"
A Shipwreck in the Sand
The 6th track of their album "A Shipwreck in the Sand".
I included the song "Their Lips Sink Ships" in
this vid because it seems like this one seems
to be some kinda the intro of the 6th track. Besides,
both songs are included in one chapter of the album.

[Lyrics]
Intro:
I knew I couldn't trust
you back when we were kids
You sold me out you ran and
hid From all your problems
can't even face your friends
Your best friends
Verse 1:
You're holding something in tonight
And I can tell you're not alright
Your poker face concealing
All the cards that you're not dealing
Cross your arms, avert your eyes
You're like a child ashamed to
cry The words inside your head
When I find out you'll wish you said
Chorus:
I let you down so many times
But I can't ever tell you this
There is no forgiving it
I promised you I'd always be there
But that couldnt be less true
It's the worst thing I could do
Verse 2:
You're gonna bet it all on black
And when it's gone you'll want it back
Cause truth will mix with reason
And cheating's the ultimate treason
And I could see through you like glass
Slither around below the grass
Garden of Eden burning
Forbidden fruit you won't discern it
(Repeat Chorus)
Bridge:
Growl:
My loss your gain
Do you love to
play this way?
Ill cross your face
It's your reckoning
Sing:
Hold in the pain
We're better
off this way
We don't explain
We're better
off this way
Friends are in
vain We're better
off this way
Growl:
Better off this way
(Repeat Intro)
(Repeat Chorus)
[Message]
In general, this album in fact has a tragic theme about break ups caused by infidelity and treason. And this song as the title implies, expresses that the singer don't trust his girl right from the start because of her wrongdoings.
Based from what I read from an article of the Ultimate Guitar website, "The song goes over the awkward feeling of being at the same place as the ex-lover. The unsaid emotions and immature attempts to avoid each other can relate to almost any break up story." This article was submitted by an unregistered Ultimate Guitar user so I really don't know who he was but his review about this album is so great.
