Is it possible to cure Hashimoto’s thyroiditis? Not exactly, but it may be possible to put Hashimoto’s into remission. A state of remission just means that your symptoms are 100% controlled and that your thyroid lab tests are essentially normal without the use of thyroid medication. It’s not possible for every patient to get to this state but it should be the goal to try to get there. The reason is that even if you can’t get into a state of remission, the treatments that you will use along the way are still at least somewhat helpful for your body. While there are very few proven treatments for lowering thyroid antibodies, treatments like changing your diet, removing gluten and dairy, eating Whole Foods, replacing nutrient deficiencies, and taking low dose naltrexone, have worked for other patients in the past. And since these treatments have very few side effects, they are almost always preferred over sitting around and waiting for your thyroid to destroy itself. #hashimotosthyroiditis #hashimotos #thyroid #tpo #thyroidantibodies #hypothyroidism #shorts
