When Daniel Fisher was diagnosed with
worsening congestive heart failure,
a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD)
was implanted to improve his heart function
until a transplant became available.
Here, Daniel talks about the LVAD implanted into his heart,
the steps he must take to keep the
device charged and functioning at all times,
and his decision to follow doctors’ advice and participate in
Cardiac Rehabilitation Therapy at Helen Hayes Hospital.
