Australia Day is meant to unite the nation in celebration of its culture. But each year, it exposes divisions within the country. January 26 marks the start of European settlement. For the country's first inhabitants, it's a day of mourning that serves as a reminder that their land was stolen and their ancestors were slaughtered by British colonists. Some sectors of society say that it's in the past, and Aboriginal Australians need to move on. But Aboriginal Australians say that's hard to do when they continue to face oppression and socio-economic disadvantage. We ask if the government should heed calls to change the date.
