Quick overview of how Daz functions in my character workflow: creating a base for CC4, cheaper cloth than Reallusion (since they started gouging devs for extended licensing), creating JRPG-style 2D assets, etc.
TLDW:
CCHair will give you better results in UE5, so never pay for interactive licensing on Daz hair.
Daz shoes tend to have ludicrous poly counts and posing issues in CC3/4, so skip interactive licensing for shoes.
Renderhub is cheap, generally lower-poly than Daz, and includes extended licensing for nearly everything on the site as part of the purchase price. Definitely on the "sexy" side, but a lot of it is very easy to modify in Blender, Substance, etc. Good value.
Between store page listings, marketing, diallogue systems, UI, etc. devs- especially solo devs- need to produce a LOT of 2D assets. Using Daz in your workflow can speed up creation of these assets dramatically.
