This gentleman thinks there is a piece of cactus stuck under the skin. It happened about two years ago and it has recently gotten more noticeable and uncomfortable.
.
In this video, I again show my technique on how to do a digital nerve block. I like to angle my needle obliquely and go down to the bone. Injecting the local anesthesia this way allows it to diffuse down to create the finger block, without lacerating or injuring the nerve or blood vessels.
.
After anesthesia, I make an incision over the lesion. As I pull it out, it falls apart and there is a cheesy like material that is seen that is consistent with a foreign body reaction. The entire specimen consists of a small splinter with a larger area of foreign body reaction encapsulating it.
