Back at the Ideal Icos we had to turn off a few weeks ago to install a replacement boiler.
The customer was on a budget so we went to our budget boiler which was the Main Eco Compact heat only. With it only requiring a switch live and no pump over run it was an ideal replacement.
First problem we had was there was no drain off above boiler and the one inside didn’t work.
The header tank was in a very hard to reach area and we struggled to remove it, once out and we saw the dirt that had accumulated over the years we knew we had out work cut out to clean the system.
The condensate pipe was run in 21.5mm overflow so that needed upgrading and we also had to install a system filter
