Is there a difference between instructional design vs. eLearning design? And what's the difference between being an instructional designer vs. an eLearning developer?

Yes, of course, there is! And no, there isn't! The truth about answering these questions is that it depends on who you ask. In other words, it's complicated!

The role of an instructional designer is to apply solid learning theories in the creation of effective and engaging learning and training experiences or resources. And this involves understanding the different learning and instructional design theories, data analysis, project management, multimedia development, and visual design.

Being an eLearning designer or developer is no different; you're just an instructional designer who happens to specialize in the design and development of eLearning. Think of it like this: All eLearning design is instructional design, but not all instructional design is eLearning design.

So, in this video, I'll share how I view the differences between instructional design vs. eLearning design.
