When Is The Best Time To Trek To Everest Base Camp?

The best time to trek Everest Base Camp would be during the pre-monsoon season (March, April, and May) and the post-monsoon (September, October, and November). Both seasons have clear weather.
What’s the itinerary like for Everest Base Camp
Typically the trek to Everest Base Camp takes around 11-12 days to complete. The total distance from Lukla to Everest Base Camp and Back is around 120 km approx. From Lukla, it takes around 8 days to get to Base Camp including 2 acclimatization days and another 3 to 4 days to get back to Lukla. Over the years, Everest Base Camp Trek has gained more popularity. With its popularity, it has brought more tea houses on the trail which provide different kinds of accommodation and food for the trekkers.
What Kind Of trekking gear is required for the Everest Base Camp trek?
Having the right kind of trekking gear is very important for any adventure activities, especially for trekking to Everest base camp. This will not only keep you safe from the harsh weather conditions in the mountains but also add to your much-needed confidence while trekking. You can charge your electronic devices en route easily while on the lower part of the trek. But as you trek higher, electricity is supplied through Solar panels, and still possible to get charged your devices with an extra cost. Highly recommended to carry your own power bank.
Altitude Mountain Sickness is caused by rapid exposure to low amounts of oxygen at higher altitudes. The symptoms may include headache, vomiting, sleeplessness, dizziness, tiredness, etc. . So to avoid altitude sickness trek slow, stay hydrated and have enough rest, and make sure you are having some acclimatization days along the trek. Everest base camp trek cost ideas.
Lukla flight return: Lukla is the gateway to Everest Region, Flights to LUKLA and back to Kathmandu will cost you USD 385 recent price as per the airlines.
Trekking permit to Everest base camp trek will cost about USD 50
Guide and porter will cost USD 30 and USD20 per day.
Food and Accommodation COST USD 5-10 per night
Food USD 10 per meal including hot drinks.
Hot drinks will cost USD 1 to 4 per cup, a hot shower will cost USD 4 to 7, battery charging will cost USD 3 to 10, and bottled water will cost USD 1 to 4, wifi will cost 5 to 6 USD every stop.
Do I need to have travel insurance?
It is not mandatory but better to have one and make sure it covers emergency evacuation from higher altitudes. If there is insurance in your home country get one otherwise try to get worldwide travel insurance. You may contact us for more detailed information about travel insurance.
