Although Agnes Milowka's story is tragic, we might take solace in the fact that she achieved her goal of becoming a cave explorer. Of all the caverns near Mount Gambier, Tank Cave stands out as one of the greatest. Agnes was investigating the cave's wonders when she tragically passed away.
A water tank that is directly over the entrance gave Tank Cave its name. It can be found in South Australia's Mount Gambier. The entrance to the cave is underground, so you must descend a small ladder to go inside. Access to this entrance is highly restricted by the Cave Divers Association of Australia. Divers enjoy exploring Tank Cave because it is a rare gem.
The cave, which has a modest surface, leads to a vast, labyrinthine system with more than 23000 feet (7010 meters) of diveable channel. There are a ton of side tunnels as well. The cave is only about 65 feet deep at its deepest point (20m). Its water is incredibly pure, allowing you to dive through it with little to no obstruction. One of Australia's longest underwater tunnels, Tank Cave, is largely enclosed by a fixed line.
