This is an exquisite Tourmaline! Maine at one time was the largest producer of Tourmaline in the country. Still to this day, mines are producing world class gem Tourmaline. This material was mined this past year at the Havey Mine just outside of Portland. This green/teal material is one of the most desirable colors for Tourmaline and is primary color that the Havey Mine produces. The clarity of this material is exceptional and rivals all other tourmaline localities in the world. This Asscher cut is oriented to demonstrate the dichroism. The stone shows a stunning mixed bi-color of blue and green that shifts when moved in the hand. This is one of the finest Maine Tourmalines that has ever come out of the shop and is true collector’s quality. It will look fantastic once set into jewelry, and will make a breathtaking ring! This gemstone was faceted by Allyce Kosnar of Kosnar Gem Co., during March 2017. Enjoy!
