The 4116 DRAM tester has a very straight-forward firmware that runs one test and then halts. To start a new test a reset of the device is needed. This is done by the only pushbutton on the board. I modified the firmware so that the tester initializes and waits for the pushbutton to start the test (both LEDs blink). After the test if finished the button needs to be pressed once more to acknowledge the result and get back to the waiting cycle. The LEDs' usage logic was slightly modified. The serial IO messaging was greatly improved. The mod required disconnecting the pushbutton from the RST signal and connecting it to A6 (pin 25) of Arduino Nano.
