World War II veteran Art Schultz lost his eye and his arm in the Normandy campaign, but never his joy for life. Steve Vradenburg, a Vietnam vet, serves as Art's Senior Companion volunteer. Together, they have built a great friendship that makes all the difference.
It has been said that the strength of our communities is determined by how we help our most vulnerable citizens. For 40 years, Senior Companions have positively impacted thousands of lives. The friendship and interdependence between the client and Senior Companion is the bridge that keeps them both strong and connected to the community. This year Senior Corps Senior Companions program celebrates it's 40th Anniversary.
Senior Corps is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service.
