2% Thoriated is most common for DC welding of steel and stainless steel.
Good overall performance. High durability and low burn of rate.
Thoriated electrodes deposit less tungsten into the weld puddle compared to others, resulting in lower weld contamination.

TIG Tungsten Electrode Gold Color AWS code: EWLa-1.5
1.5% Lanthanated tungsten contains less lanthanum compared to the blue tip.
Best used for DC applications
