The Meatpacking District is a small neighborhood, spanning just a few blocks and covering about 44 acres. It's bordered by Chelsea (often considered part of Midtown) and the West Village (considered part of Downtown).

Hence the name, the Meatpacking District was once a hub for slaughterhouses and meatpacking plants, but today it's a glamorous area with high-end retail stores and restaurants. In this video we explore the neighborhood, including a visit to The Whitney Museum of American Art and a meal at the upscale Restoration Hardware Rooftop restaurant.
