There is a cindershot at the end of the Repository just before you face the brute chieftain in acquiring one of the two power seeds to advance to The Road. Carry it with you and grab the tank which wont require you to use the cindershot at all.
This will bring you to the House of Reckoning.
If you're on LASO, you can just use it throughout. If you have limited ammo, make sure you go back and get it before you advance through every stage.
When you engage the terminal to start battling escharum, start firing immediately after the Cortana's copy is done talking! (I skip it.)
