Fire crews in Northern California are continuing to battle the Glass Fire, which had grown to 56,781 acres – about 89 square miles – and was only 5 percent contained as of Thursday, October 1, according to Cal Fire.
San Jose Firefighters shared this video of Strike Team 2302A working to contain flames burning a home north of St Helena on Wednesday night, September 30. No fire hydrants were available, so firefighters shuttled water from another source, according to the post.
The National Weather Service said the fire remained “extremely active” late on Wednesday night.
Reports said that at least 143 homes were destroyed by the fires and another 46 were damaged.
