I thought I would do a quick video on magnetic amplifiers due to the lack of information available on the internet. Saturable reactors and magnetic amplifiers were used as early as 1885, through to roughly the mid 1900's, where their use declined rapidly. Since then, the magnetic amplifier has become all-but-forgotten - lost technology. I'm just doing my bit to keep everyone aware of their options when designing circuits..
Magnetic amplifiers have many uses including amplification, switching and controlling.
For a thorough understanding of magnetic amplifiers, I would suggest to start with a book which was written by Paul Mali and published in 1960 - 'Magnetic Amplifiers - Principles And Applications'.
