New Delhi, Oct 01 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Thursday held the anticipatory bail plea of AAP MLA and Delhi's former Law Minister Somnath Bharti to be infructous and extended his police custody by 3 days. The court further directed his estranged wife Lipika Mitra to appear before it if she wishes to have mediation in the case. The Supreme Court also issued notice to Mitra to be present in the court on October 5. SC also refused to issue directions to the police in the case. The Supreme Court had earlier ordered Bharti to surrender before Delhi Police, failing which, they warned that they would not hear his plea for bail on October 1. Bharti had moved the SC seeking protection from arrest in the case and a direction to restrain the Delhi Police from arresting him till his plea challenging the High Court order is decided. Bharti has been accused of domestic violence and attempt to murder by his wife Lipika Mitra.
