TANJAY City is the next best city to visit in Negros Oriental, Philippines. It's well known for its native delicacy "bod-bod sa Tanjay" which is a delicious dessert that goes well with a cup of pure chocolate drink or a cup of native freshly brewed pure coffee :-)

Tanjay City is well known for its cultural celebration of the "Sinulog de Tanjay Festival". It originated way back in the year 1814 ancestry and was revived in 1980 as highlight of its annual fiesta celebration.

The origin of the name TANJAY is being told as named after a Chinese trader and from a tall tree known as "Tan Hai". In 1580, Tanjay was designated as the first Catholic parish of Negros Oriental still being a town at that time.
