UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged world leaders on November 7 to work together to ensure the world does not warm more than 1.5-degrees from pre-industrial levels, warning the planet was on a "highway to climate hell" without urgent action.
The 1.5 degree goal was laid out in the Paris Agreement in 2015.
Concluding his speech, the UN head reiterated his call for global actions as a window of opportunity remains open, but only a narrow shaft of light remains.
