Bodega bay was established as a port by the Russian settlers who came here seeking mild climate to raise food and crops for their Alaskan settlements. The protective port quickly became the import and export center for the Sonoma Coast, Bodega Bay established itself as a fishing village with a complete array of delectable sea fare. People come from all over to enjoy crab and salmon fresh from the sea and to explore the variety of shops that line Coast Highway 1. Bodega bay attracts people from far and wide who come to see where Alfred Hitchcock filmed the movie of the birds and the historic 150-year-old Saint Theresa‘s church. The main street is lined with electric antique shops and art galleries that pour their goods onto the sidewalk. If you have never Visited bodega Bay I definitely recommend it. Spend a weekend here and you will want to come back year after year.
